“There is a wildness in the air, a spice that belongs to more than lilacs or the sweet woodruff blooming beneath the trees. Ferns glisten with morning dew, and somewhere, lovers conspire to meet at sundown.”
– Michele Morgan
May was, quite frankly, exhausting.
I began a new dayjob, worked on my mentorship project, and turned my attention to the cats and garden.
Reflections on the Journey
i. Read 12 books: 4/12 – I’m still reading the books I was last month, but I made progress so maybe in June I’ll complete one 🙂
ii. Track my wordcount and aim for 100,000 words: 06,310/100,000 words – I received feedback from an Alpha reader so The Felled Gods is back in revisions. This halted my writing process, although much note-taking was present.
iii. Wellness Weekly: For May, I kept up my focus on meditation. The gratitude practise didn’t have as big an impact as I expected so returned to a few other meditation and visualisation practises.
Smoke and Ember
The cats are well; enjoying the warm, sunny weather.
Smoke did decide to use our hallway rug as a toilet, so we’ve done a big revamp of the litter tray routines [cleaning/praise/treats/placement] which, fingers crossed, has been working for the past 2 weeks.
Ember is her usual uncertain self, but well and loud as needed 😛
Jumping the Wall…
- I began a new job. It’s early days, but the team are lovely so far 😀
- I watched a movie called The Machine which had some interesting sci-fi aspects.
- I began panning edits to TFG and this excited me greatly!
The Path Ahead…
- June is just “keep going” from May’s goals. I’m working out semi-regularly (at least 2x a week, ideally 3x) and have cut my sugar intake across the past 3 weeks.
