Day-to-Day

Greeting 2025

2024 was a transformational year.

I definitely went into a chrysalis in the Spring, and emerged like a soggy butterfly by Autumn. My writing took a large brunt of the hibernation, and I’m not rushing to get it back up and running for 2025. This year is about regaining my balance, however that ends up looking.

Reflecting on 2024:

Intuition: 2/3 goals achieved.

i. Read 6 books (& Take Notes): – I completed 4 books this year – reading is something I am focusing on for 2025. But officially, I did managed 66% of this one.
ii. Continue Weekly Therapy:I count this as a full 100% win. I attended 105 sessions over 28 months, and am really exploring life without therapy, as my mental health has been fragile since the year I moved in with my now-ex-partner. It’s so nice to have *me* back after a decade of living in that trauma.
iii. Return to Daily Journaling :I think I did this enough to count it a success, although it wasn’t exactly 365 days of the year. I feel I used it as needed.

Creation: 1/2 goals completed.

iv. Track Fiction Wordcount: – I technically did this, but that’s because I wrote a total of 2,577 fiction words in 2024. And only 330 of them weren’t poetry/songs written for catharsis. Yup. Me, who used to write 100k-150k a year without issue only wrote 330 words this past 12 months. Oof. What a realisation. So let’s count this 50% because I did definitely ‘track’ them…
v. Weekly Integration: – I’d say I managed this one about 50% too – I have a clear place for my notes which I can access to review them, although I’m not sure I’ve saved half of what I’d planned to in there.

Stabilisation: 2.5/3 goals done.

vi. Build on my Healthy Habits: – I continued my intermittent fasting for 16 hours overall [344/365 days], so this is a pure tick.
vii. Movement 3x a Week: – This I didn’t manage 3x a week, but I have learned a lot about how to make this one realistic, especially in the winter, I’m saying this is about 66% done.
viii. Create a Cleaning Routine: – Another variable one, but I did definitely build up a routine – even if I didn’t quite do it 100%, I did create and manage a lot of it with help from friends and family.

Connection: 3/3 achieved!

ix. Socialise Monthly With Friends: – I got pretty good with this in 2024, thanks to 5 months off work and socially prescribed treatments by my ANP, and friends actively inviting themselves over when I was struggling. <3
x. About Reinvention and Creativity: – I got much better at connecting – I sent 19 email newsletters not 26, but it beat 13 in 2023. I recorded a couple of episodes for the podcast and then got a new microphone for Yule.
xi. Access Nature: – I did pretty well at this one until the end of the year. I think I can tick this off, even if I didn’t quite manage every single planned outing, I was outside a TON this year, and it’s staying on my list for 2025.

Integration: 1/3 goals achieved.

xii. Build on Skills: – I did not complete either of the two courses I really wanted to in 2024. I passed 365 days of daily Duolingo in July and am still on a streak come January 2025. Thus I guess I managed 33% of this goal as I did complete a Certificate in Counselling Skills and release a new course in my business.

That’s 9.5/14 which is really not bad in my opinion 🙂
How many of us can say we achieve 68% of our goals?

So, 2025… What Do You Hold In Store?

My word for 2025 is “exhale…

I’m keeping my goals a bit more structured, but also simpler for 2025.

Inhale. (Practical Steps)
* 1x a month – Declutter / Explore Options to Move – I currently live in sub-optimal housing and would love the bunnies to have their own room. I need to go through the stuff from my old home and downsize a bit.
* 2x a week – Complete Courses (EJL1, Core100, NP) – Some of these were started at the end of 2024, and some have been on my list a while. I’m booking in time each week to get these done.

Pause. (Grounding)
* 2x a week – Meditate for a minimum of 3 minutes each time.
* 1x a week – Rest night (read/write fiction or watch Youtube/Twitch) – Currently pencilled in for Thursdays in lieu of my therapy.
* 7x a week – Skincare routine AM and PM

Express. (Physical Health)
* 3x a week – Move my body (Staff, Shivanata, Archery, Yoga, Walk, NFA.)
* 6x a week – Continue Intermittent Fasting (16 hours.)
* 5x a week – Eat only healthy breakfasts (No junk before midday.)

Speak Up & Sing. (Creativity)
* 1x a week – Connect with people (Patreon/Podcast/Newsletter.)
* 1x a week – Commune with Friends and/or Nature.

Stretch Goals:
* 5x a week – Eat only healthy lunches.
* 2x a week – Rest Nights a week.
* 1x a week – Work on OBDO course.
