Short Fiction: Fight Like A Girl

Last year, I submitted a story to Kristell Ink for their anthology Fight Like A Girl; a collection focused on combat in fantasy and science fiction settings, written by women.

I can now reveal that my tale, The Coyote, is one of the tales of combat-themed fiction included in the anthology, to be published in April.

The Coyote is an urban fantasy tale of factional conflict in my old home city, Brighton.

The Release: April 2nd

Not only can I now reveal that they’ve accepted my tale for publication (this was the ‘writing news’ mentioned in my October update), but we also have details of the release!

Kristell Ink, with support from Bristolcon, are throwing a launch party for the anthology, complete with swordplay, discussions about the role of women in SF&F, excerpts from the book, and a buffet to boot!

The launch (sponsored by the BristolCon Foundation) will take place at The Hatchet Inn, Frogmore Street, Bristol on Saturday April 2nd from 1pm – 5.30pm.

I am planning to attend if I can, although I still have the details to work through. If you want to support us, and find out who else has a story included, head to Goodreads and add it to your “to-read” list!

You’re Invited!

Want to attend the launch? Head to eventbrite to buy a ticket (£5) which will include a buffet. The extra 95p is a fee charged by eventbrite to cover their administration costs, yet buying online allows us to know how many people want feeding! You can also join in the fun on the Facebook Page

During the party, copies will be available to buy at a RRP of £9.99.

Are you coming to the launch? Let me know in the comments!
